lpsched timeout

I know that if lpsched cannot deliver data to a remote IP address after a few times, it disables a lp queue. Can somebody tell me the time out value ( > 1 second ?) and the number of timeout values before disabling the queue.
Can I set the values or are they fixed, not modifyable ?

I guess the values are fixed !!

I once asked HP support for time out values on the
lpstat -o command for remote printers and they told me there was no way to change this values.

He's a real UNIX Man, sitting in his UNIX LAN making all his UNIX plans for nobody ...
