lsof

Hey everyone:
I'm new to sys admin and need much of your knowledge and help. When i try to run lsof, receive a message sh: lsof: not found. OS 11.11. Thank you.

Hi,

Lsof is not a standard tool, you can download it on below side,

http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Sysadmin/lsof-4.64/

Hi Henry,

lsof will be installed at /usr/contrib/bin by default, after the installation, you can either add that directory to your PATH, or create a link at /usr/bin/lsof, pointing to /usr/contrib/bin/lsof.

'lsof' is not a part of HP-UX, although it should be. You can obtain it here:

Hi Henry,

the web-adresses what the others had give to you, pointing to a lsof binary what is NOT able to run on HP-UX 11.11. It only run on 11.00.

Take this and you will be happy !!!

Hello again:
I download the file Roland suggest and came lsof_4.67.gz. gunzip the file. Question is how do I install the software? Thanks for the assistance.

The installation depend on the file type which you downloaded. Normally you can uzip it (gunzip file_name) and use swinstall. Sometimes if it's in tar format, then first unzip it and then use tar command to get installable files (tar -xvf file_name).
