Lun not visible-Urgent

The following servers are cluster FRDKOCL04N2 and FRDKOCL04N1. The issue is in FRDKOCL04N2 the luns are not visible.

Zone info:

Fabric A:

(FRDKOCL04N2_FC1)+(LT2G11_EVA_10_cA_Fc1)+(LT2G11_EVA_10_cB_Fc2)
1000-0000-c93b-870e + 50001FE1 50030529 + 50001FE1 5003052C

(FRDKOCL04N2_FC1)+(LT101_EVA_10_CA_FC1)+(LT101_EVA_10_CB_FC2)

1000-0000-c93b-870e + 50001FE1 50027B19 + 50001FE1 50027B1C

Fabric B:

(FRDKOCL04N2_FC2)+(LT2G11_EVA_10_CA_FC2)+ (LT2G11_EVA_10_CB_FC1)

1000-0000-c93a-7ca1 + 50001FE1 50030528 + 50001FE1 5003052D

(FRDKOCL04N2_FC2)+(LT101_EVA_10_CA_FC2) + (LT101_EVA_10_CB_FC1)

1000-0000-c93a-7ca1 + 50001FE1 50027B18 + 50001FE1 50027B1D

The above two servers are connected to two storage box and these storage box are replicating between each other.
The FRDKOCL04N2 and FRDKOCL04N1 are mapped the same luns.

I checked in broacde switch, zoning is fine, ports are online, health check is good.

I am not sure why in server end the disk is not visible, experts pls suggest whetehr I need to check any thing more.

The server is connected to HP eva 5000

Re: Lun not visible-Urgent

Download the evainfo tool (search for it here on ITRC) and run it like "evainfo -a" in both servers.

Also, did you remember to perform an ioscan -fnC disk and insf -e commands?

Re: Lun not visible-Urgent

Somehow this doesn't look like hp-ux related, can you confirm?

Hope this helps!

Re: Lun not visible-Urgent

1. Ensure the zones identified are part of the effective zone configs in fabrics A & B.

2. Ensure the each server's WWNs are registering on their respective SAN switches [nameserver or switchshow].

3. On the EVA5000, ensure the shared vDisks are truly shared across the clustered nodes.

4. Compare the "ioscan -fnCdisk" and "strings /etc/lvmtab" command outputs.
Ensure the HW paths have NOT changed. If they have changed, you may have to revert back from your VG map files [containing VGIDs].

Re: Lun not visible-Urgent

Hi ,

from the storage side need to check if the LUNS have been assigned to the other server also in which you are niot able to see the LUNS , look from the command view EVA tool on the Storage Management server and also conform that zoning if done is proper on the SAN Switches.

Fiber cabling with the FC of the Problem server to thr SAN Switch is OK ,. What does the fcmustil on the FCs of the problem server say, are they online>
