LVM LUN Expansion in 11iv2
In case you hadn't noticed, some of the dynamic LUN expansion features of LVM in 11iv3 (through the vgmodify command) have now been back-ported to 11iv2.
You need the following patches:
PHCO_35524
PHKL_36244
Then have a read of the whitepaper that describes how to do it (and learn a lot about LVM in the process)

Re: LVM LUN Expansion in 11iv2
Thanks for the heads-up and the link to a well-written document! I had previously read the 11.31 LVM whitepapers and had hoped that we would see a back-port of some of the features therein. I'm certainly going to add the aforementioned enabling patches to my next patch of 11.23.
Regards!

Re: LVM LUN Expansion in 11iv2
I'm going to alert our customers who are running production on 11.23.
Good Show.
No chance of it getting backported to 11.11?

Re: LVM LUN Expansion in 11iv2
For a couple years now array vendors have been touting dynamic volume increases but the OS's have not been able recognize the changes.
Great to see the solution is here.
Thanks Duncan for the info.
