LVM Paths Alt/Pri
I have two rp3410 servers configured as an active/passive MC/SG cluster. The servers share a ds2405 JBOD. The ds2405 has two controllers and I'd like to make use of both.
So, I ran a script to alternate the controllers as primary and alternate links. I.e. half of the disks will use c5, the other half c4. I did this by running a loop over vgreduce/vgextend.
The above load balancing worked fine. However, whenever the package gets failed over and the VG reactivated, it reverts back to a configuration where all primary links are on one controller, and all alternate on the other. Thus forcing all I/O to go through a single controller.
Is there any way to make LVM "save" my primary and alternate link preferences? I'd rather not have to rig things up to run the "load balance" script after each reboot, or failover.
Thanks for any help.

Re: LVM Paths Alt/Pri
This kind of configuration is locally stored in /etc/lvmtab, so you need to vgexport (preview) the vg on the primary and vgimport on the secondary. If needed, do the same "sort" action on the secondary node too.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: LVM Paths Alt/Pri
Shalom,
Please post an ioscan with some comments so I know what to read.
I suspect some step in the process is not complete.
True load balancing with LVM? I'd like to see the details on that.
