LVM version - How to find this out

How can I find out what version of LVM and Advanced JFS am I running? I understand it is now supposed to be up to v3.3 (Veritas) but I don't know how to check to see what version we are running now.

Also, is it my understanding that although the filesystem is vxfs, it is not necessarily Veritas unless it is v3.3?

Thanks in advance!

vxupgrade and fstyp will show you the layout and version information.

My very little knowlecge on the subject is:
I have been told by some HP support last year that
from HP-UX10.20 you have vxfs vers2
HP-UX 11.0 uses vxfs vers3

Hi:

As Cheryl said, do:

# fstyp -v /dev/vgXX/lvolX

Re: LVM version - How to find this out

Not sure if this is any help but...

You can check a particular file system with
'fstyp -v /dev/vg??/lvol??'

Using the 'what' command on one of the LVM commands e.g. 'what /sbin/vgdisplay' will give you some details of the patch level and status of LVM.

fstyp will give you the answer.

HP-UX 10.20 you have vxfs vers2
HP-UX 11.0 uses vxfs vers3
HP-UX 11.0 with JFS3.3 = vers4
