lvmpvg

Hi
We have two pvgs of vg02.
--- Physical volume groups ---
PVG Name PVGA
PV Name /dev/dsk/c8t4d0
PV Name /dev/dsk/c8t5d0
PV Name /dev/dsk/c8t6d0
PV Name /dev/dsk/c8t7d0

PVG Name PVGB
PV Name /dev/dsk/c7t4d0
PV Name /dev/dsk/c7t5d0
PV Name /dev/dsk/c7t6d0
PV Name /dev/dsk/c7t7d0

One of the disk is gone bad. The disk name is /dev/dsk/c8t5d0.
We wants to remirror the disk.
So how can we perform this task.

Regards
SAchit

Re: lvmpvg

Hi:

To simply remirror, use 'vgsync' or 'lvsync'. See the manpages for more information.

Re: lvmpvg

It seems the Physical Volume group PVGB is just an alternative link configured for Physical Volume group PVGA.

provide the following details.

#vgdisplay -v vg02

if ur using XP as external storage.

#xpinfo -f /dev/rdsk/c8t4d0
#xpinfo -f /dev/rdsk/c7t4d0

#lvdisplay -v

Re: lvmpvg

If you have LVM OLR Patch installed, its pretty easy then. Exexute pvchange -a n for the faulty disk before replacement. then replace the disk and after that execute pvchange -a y again for the same disk. Once this is done execute vgcfgrestore on that disk so VG information will be restored and then vgsync will solve the purpose. Do remember that vgsync may take long time based upon the vg size.
