mailx spitting out java errors
I upgraded my naviagentcli software (emc cx700) on friday. This doesn not touch java or mail; however mail stopped working and I get the following error
mailx
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: version
mailx[2]: Syntax error at line 2 : `(' is not expected.
Has anyone had this issue. I didnt know mail relied on java

Re: mailx spitting out java errors
Shalom,
/sbin/init.d/sendmail stop
/sbin/init.d/sendmail start
If this does not fix it, I would surmise that some other change has happened to the system to trigger the problem.
I can't see how emc software could damage the mail configuration, so some action may have been missed.
/var/adm/syslog/mail.log may have more clues.

Re: mailx spitting out java errors
found the problem. the mailx binary had been hosed. Most likely self inflicted but not sure. I replaced the file and everything works now. I appreciate it.
