make_net_recovery on other host
Hi
I have installed HP-UX11.11 on both A & B host, I want to apply host A archived image on host B and after successfully applying, restore original B image again on host B.
My archives are placed in /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives and on /var/opt/ignite/client directory no host A mac address and link files exist, only host B mac address and linked file is there.
igserver:/var/opt/ignite/clients#ll
total 48
drwxr-xr-x 3 bin bin 8192 Aug 27 23:30 0x0017A43FB222
drwxr-xr-x 4 bin bin 8192 Aug 27 17:47 0x00306E4B190D
drwxrwxrwx 20 root sys 8192 Aug 27 16:33 history
lrwxr-xr-x 1 bin bin 14 Aug 27 11:31 mytest2 -> 0x00306E4B190D
lrwxr-xr-x 1 bin bin 14 Feb 9 2008 mytest -> 0x00306E4B2076
lrwxr-xr-x 1 bin bin 14 Aug 27 23:30 B -> 0x0017A43FB222
Can anyone have idea on how to install other system image on seperate host or what changes required to be done for this.
regards
Zafar

Re: make_net_recovery on other host
Shalom,
The procedure of taking one system image and using on another with similar hardware is well known and works.
The MAC address is not hard coded in the netconf file. You may needed after restore to reset the system MAC address.
