Re: make_net_recovery query
this depends on what is the type of Host that you have taken an ignite backup, is that PA risc/IA and also i think before running a make_net_recovery that host had been configured as an ignite client to that ignite server.
you can go for a single step as well as two step recovery.
that is single step means boot the Client over LAN thru the ignite server and install the OS using the network archive that us on the Ignite-UX server.this requires configuration of Ignite server to boot the client over network.booting client over network is different for PA/IA servers, and requires different config on ignite server.
Two step recovery means boot the Client using DVD and install OS over network using the make_net_recovery image on the ignite-ux server.
the following implies if you are performing singhle step or two step recovery."that before making the network archive you had properly configured the host as an ignite client to the ignite server."

Re: make_net_recovery query
The best way is , connect the Ignite server and the client machine in which you want to install the recovery image through a cross cable. Power on the system and - go to EFI and lan boot select
Before that you have to put the MAC address of the client in /etc/bootptab file of the Ignite server.
