make_net_recovery ---restore

I need to understand how to restore the stuff which has been taken by make_net_recovery in the following cases
1)If the client where i want to restore is the same one from where i took the archive .
2)the client is different , can i retore on to that the archive taken from some other client

When i set up a Ignite server , I had a main file called /var/opt/ignite/INDEX and it use to have 3 files for a particular config , (config.local,config, and one archive config file which has the nfs source definitions).Now In case of make_net_recovery archive restore , do i have to enter one more definition in INDEX file ???
