make_recovery error message.
Hi,
Trying to do a OS backup using make_recovery command make_recovery -A -d /dev/rmt/1mnb. Get the following error message:
vxvm:vxprint: ERROR: IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible
vxvm:vxprint: ERROR: IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible
vxvm:vxprint: ERROR: IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible
vxvm:vxprint: ERROR: IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible
But after about 30 minutes, the message shows the recovery tape has been generated successfully.
When I try to list the contents, get the error:
mt -f /dev/rmt/1mnb rewind
mt -f /dev/rmt/1mnb fsf 1
tar -tvf /dev/rmt/1mnb
Tar: blocksize = 0; broken pipe?
I am wondering whether the recovery tape is ok or not? Appreciate if anyone can help. Thanks.

Re: make_recovery error message.
try use a rewind device when use with
tar -tvf /dev/rmt/1mb.
If that doesn't work still, try use
make_recovery -A -d /dev/rmt/1mn
tar -tvf /dev/rmt/1mb.
If that doesn't work still, try use
make_recovery -A -d /dev/rmt/1mn
