make recovery net install fails
Hi all,
I have run a make_net_recovery from my client onto my ignite server.
When I then try to boot from the client (bo lan. install) it comes up with a menu saying waiting for instructions from the ignite server.
I have tried selecting the "Perform installation from this console" option but it just refreshes the same menu.
I would like to be able to perform the whole installation from the client rather than using the gui on the ignite server.
Does anybody have any ideas as to why this isn't letting me do this?
Also I have noticed it assigns the wrong IP as the active ip address. Is it using DCHP for some reason?
Thanks,
Colin

Re: make recovery net install fails
When you boot off an Ignite Server, DHCP is used to assign the IP address. This MUST be via the built in NIC card.
If the server is set up wrong, it will assign the wrong address. If the address is wrong enough, it explains the symptons.
On the server:
/opt/ignite/bin/ignite
Go through server configuration again, taking into account other servers(Ignite Clients) may be using this server.
Also, make sure the Ignite version is consistent throughout the Enterprise. Version mismatch could explain the problem.
