make_recovery problems
Hi again
Further to my previous problem - I have created another make_recovery tape and viewed the contents which are ok.
When I boot from the tape I still get /i2 short by 3004MB and /home short by 164MB.
Before I extend them (along with /stand which was my original problem) , why do these messages appear when bdf shows /i2 is 60% used and /home is 48% used?
Thanks
Cliff

Re: make_recovery problems
Do you have multiple disks that make up root? If so you must go into an interactive restore, examine the filesystem tab. Under additional tasks go to the logical volume parameters and then change the disk mapping for each lvol from assigned disks to any.

There's a screen shot here

Search the page for "Advanced Volume Layout screen". See under disk? It should say Any.

Re: make_recovery problems
Cheryl,
Thanks for that.
I rebooted from the make_recovery tape , making all the changes I needed with success.
My last problem is that during the final reboot during mkfs for /var , I got the message:
mkfs cannot provide the specified number of inodes with the current cylinder group size(16). Specify smaller cylinder groups.
Is another tape reboot and ignite change reqd. or can I do this elsewhere?
Thanks
Cliff
