make_recovery - where is it?

I have a K460, fresh install of HP/UX 11.00. I have 4 application CDs, 1 Core OS CD, 1 June 2000 patches CD.

First problem is I cannot find a make_recovery program. It is on our other K460, which I did not setup, but not on this new K460. Is that software on the other CDs?

The only software I installed off the 4 app CDs was Netscape 4.76.

Re: make_recovery - where is it?

Ignite/UX, which make_recovery is a part of, is installed in /opt/ignite/ directory. This is not installed by default. The easiest way to get Ignite installed is to go to http://software.hp.com/products/IUX and download the latest version and install it with swinstall.

You will then have make_recovery and make_tape_recovery available to you.

Re: make_recovery - where is it?

Hi Tim:

It's part of the Ignite/UX package. You can download the latest version from HP.

Re: make_recovery - where is it?

Hi Tim,

make_recovery command is part of the Ignite/UX software. You may either install it form one of your CDs or download it as mentioned above.

One day you will appreciate producing such a tape.

Re: make_recovery - where is it?

The latest version contains
make_net_recovery which is very nice.
It allows you to do the archive to a directory on your Ignite server and recover from it.

Re: make_recovery - where is it?

make_recovery is part of the ignite software. Should be on app CD. I think disk 3.

If I had only read the instructions first??

This has to be the best support forum I have used anywhere. The response time is amazing.

I have IgniteUX installed and running. I'll be back with my next problem. :)

Thanks again
