Re: make_recovery without installing ignite

Hi:

No, 'make_recovery' is but one utility within the Ignite suite. 60MB for what you get is very small.

Nope, youre going to need to install ignite to get the make_recovery command and all the important utils ignite needs to ensure a successful recovery tape. If you cant afford the space try an older version of ignite, theyre a bit smaller.

Re: make_recovery without installing ignite

Hi (again):

BTW, if you are on 11.x, for instance, and have no need to install 10.x servers, you can choose the 11.x only "version" instead of the "full version" which allows both 10.x and 11.x installs. The difference is about 62MB vs 92MB for the current Ignite.

Re: make_recovery without installing ignite

Hi,

i'm not sure but perhaps mounting (NFS) the /opt/ignite and mkdir -p /var/opt/ignite on the clients could be a solution.

No, 'make_recovery' is one utility within the Ignite software.
It is not surely waste space.
