make_tape_recovery errors when trying to restore

Hello everybody,

I am trying to clone a K580 from a tape created on K460.

While running mk_kernel -o it errors out with following error.

make: Don't know how to make /usr/conf/lib/libbtlan4.a stop.

I have a shell prompt right now.

My question is:
At this point
Is there a way to build an executable kernel without the btlan4 driver.

We don't have btlan4 driver on K460 , we are not going to need it on K-580 either.

Try to do vi on /stand/system and take out btlan4 driver from the file. and then recreate the kernel. Remember no path has been defined yet. So you have to give the command with full path.

I did try to do mk_kernel -s /stand/system.

I am getting following error for each line in the system file.

Warning: No such device, tunable or cdio shmmax
Ignoring the following line.
shmmax 107374184
/usr/bin/mkdir -p /stand/build

make did and exit (1).

Here I have put only the last line for shmmax parameter.

I did change an IP address on one of the lan card during initial configuration. As K460 is still in use.

Hi,

Take a look at the thread below on cloning guidelines for non-identical systems. I guess your K460 and K580 are non-identical in terms of hardware configuration,

You might have changed the IP, but you didn't change the LAN card, which doesn't exist on your "new" system.

Take a look at the link Sanjay provided. (which means you will probably have to just install the OS).
