make_tape_recovery

Hi,

Tried make_tape_recovery using following command resulted unsuccessful completion. Any reasons why?

Re: make_tape_recovery

Hi,

23 var/spool/cron/_at2981 106444 905961606 1025 2

23 means that file name is 23 chars long. Strangely, var/spool/cron/_at2981 is only 22 chars long. Could you check this file name using ll -b ? It perhaps contains control chars ?

Regards.
It works for me (© Bill McNAMARA ...)

Re: make_tape_recovery

Hi,

I don't know what this file could be ... a AT jobs from 1998 ??? Perhaps you could try to move it on another vg and test your make_tape_recovery.

Regards.

Re: make_tape_recovery

Yes , This is a good archive. But I guess the warning message is something you need to look into. It could be a patching issue.

Re: make_tape_recovery

I just overcome this same problem.

If you remove the file its complaining about in the /var filesystem the archvie will create correctly.

No further modifications would be required, though the messaging is quite annoying.

Re: make_tape_recovery

Hi,

Yes the file has disapeared between the time flist file was built and pax was executed. Your archive is valid anyway ...
