Re: making recovery tape under 10.20

If you have the latest version of Ignite/UX, http://software.hp.com/products/IUX ,
you use the make_tape_recovery command. The command I use to do this is:

/opt/ignite/bin/make_tape_recovery -a /dev/rmt/?mn -I -v -x inc_entire=vg00

This will back up your entire VG00 volume group. Whatever is stored in VG00 will be backed up.

For more details on check out the man page for make_tape_recovery. You can also look in /opt/ignite/share/doc for various whitepapers and more information on Ignite/UX.

Re: making recovery tape under 10.20

Hi,

To make a recovery tape on 10.20 use this

# /opt/ignite/bin/make_recovery -ACvd /dev/rmt/0mn

This will only backup the /dev/vg00 volume group. To backup the rest of your system use another tape or set of tapes, using fbackup, tar, cpio or whatever tool your used to. On the make recovery make sure that you use the no rewind device as demonstrated above. Check out the man page for make_recovery or you can look up at the online manual at:
