Mapping of Windows 2003 drive on HP-UX 10.2

Anyone know how I can do that?

I want to be able to do backup to a mapped Windows drive. Is that doable? Would I need samba?

Yes Samba(CIFS) is required. Good luck finding a version for HPUX 10.20 and one that is not so buggy that it actually works.

According to the Utah site if you plan to build it you will also need:

bison, db, flex, libgcc, gettext, libiconv, m4, make, ncurses, perl, popt and readline.

If you are considering the Microsoft 3.5 Unix tools they were designed to give you NFS support. So you will also have to enable and configure NFS on the HP Unix box and deal with security setup issues on both the Windows and Unix side.

I have in the past tested the Microsoft 3.5 package under Windows 2000 and Windows XP connecting to HP/UX 10.20 but nothing newer. If all you need is NFS support then choose that option when installing it. I don't know how current (Windows 203) that Microsoft package is.
