max file size HP-UX.

Hi All,
this is my first question on the forum. I would like to know what the maximum file size ossible on HP-UX.
We have Oracle server running on HP-UX and the size of datafile can reach upto 15MB to 18MB.
Is this possible on HP-UX?

yes this is poseble. if you have a vxfs filesystem (cat /etc/fstab) you have to put the largefile parameter on for files bigger than 2 gig
after that the max file size is depending on your
hpux Rekease, JFS version anddisklayout version

If you mean 15 to 19 megabytes, these are very small files for any flavor of HP-UX. A large file is defined as more than 2000 megabytes or 2 gigabytes. In that case, the answer depends on the version of HP-UX.

I can't get oracle files to grow beyound 32 Gbytes (oracle limitation me thinks).

To get more data into a table, the table space has multiple 32Gbyte files.

So, the tablespace is big, made up of multiple 32Gbyte 'physical' files

(9.2.0.6 running on HPUX 11i)
