Maximum LUN count

Maximum LUN count

What is the maximum supported active LUN count for a single instance of HP-UX 11? What determines this limit? Are there any kernel parameters needed to be modified to reach this limit? Is this maximum greater with HP-UX 11i?

The XP512 can now go to 4096 LDEVs, but I don't believe the OS can support that many LUNs. Does anyone have a situation where they are configuring more than a thousand LUNs on HP-UX?

Re: Maximum LUN count

Just bring this question back from the dead..

There should be no problem to the OS.
The problem will be at CPU/adaptor level!!
Well, By default there is a maxpv of 16
set by kernel parms and a max number of
vg's=255.. that's by default.
The maxpvs should increase to 255 in a vg.
So that's quite a lot... 65k PVs
That should be enough!

It works for me (tm)
