Maximum Packets per second for 100 mbit full duplex adapter
Does any one have any experience with how hard you can push data thru a 100 mbit full duplex adapter on a switched network?
Packet sizes average 300 bytes on this system.

Re: Maximum Packets per second for 100 mbit full duplex adapter
Hi,
You can use a tool like iperf to benchmark the network throughput between two systems.
iperf can be downloaded from
http://dast.nlanr.net/Projects/Iperf/
Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: Maximum Packets per second for 100 mbit full duplex adapter
My CCDA book has a chart for 10BaseT showing about 4000 pps at the 300 byte range. 100M would probably do at least 10 times that. That's assuming your 300byte packet already included the ethernet header overhead.
