MC/Service Guard: cmapplyconf error

i have a cluster managing two rp7420 nodes (hp-ux 11i v1). each node contain three lan card.
i'd like to modify the cmclconfig.ascii file and apply the new config by runnig cmapplyconf command.
when i run cmapplyconf it fails with many errors like this:

"SRV1 lan0 successfully received from SRV1 lan1 but SRV1 lan1 did not receive from SRV1 lan0.this probably due to heavy network traffic or heavy load on SRV1"

what is the problem

Nabil -- Take a look at this document which addresses this problem:

Re: MC/Service Guard: cmapplyconf error

without seeing the actual cmclconfig.ascii file, this is going to be shooting from the hip, but you may have a network interface configuration problem with the interfaces mentioned.

Make sure both have been configured properly, i.e., with the right netmasks and ip addresses.

Re: MC/Service Guard: cmapplyconf error

....Oh I actually had something similar to this happen once, and found out that I had failed over to the other nic. Add insult to injury I discovered that one of the network guys had changed the port the original connection was on to another VLAN (arghghgh...)

I have found running cmviewconf -o pointed this out for me. Maybe it might help you to figure where to look...

Just a thought,

Re: MC/Service Guard: cmapplyconf error

Review the LAN configuration by running the following commands.

cmviewcl -v: to show the status of primary and standby LANs.
lanscan: to examine the LAN configuration and status of all LAN interfaces
linkloop: to verify the communication between LAN cards at MAC address levels
lanadmin and landiag: to examine LAN configuration or to reset LAN interfaces
