Yes. You can extend a volume group. However, you need to export and re-import the volume group on the other node.

Yes! You can do it.
On the primary node, do
the vgextend;
Then once you are sure, it is set ok, do vgexport in preview mode and copy the map file to the secondary nodes.
At the secondary node, vgexport the vg to blow away the old info and do vgimport using the new map. (after creating the vgdir and group)
