mc/serviceguard development

Has anybody ever dealt with the HP Cluster API. I know such a thing exists because doing an swlist on Cluster-OM produces a listing with a description of "HP Cluster API". However, I cannot find any documentation on the API whatsoever. If you know something about this, please let me know :-)

Thanks,
Michael

Re: mc/serviceguard development

Here is the only thing I found on it:

http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000062903446

It is the The cluster Manager interface (or at least a part of it), which allows the connection between MCSG and the Service guard Manager, or at least as far as I can tell.

Hope this helps

Re: mc/serviceguard development

Thanks for the info. It seems as though you're right, although HP is lacking any sort of useful documentation as to how one is supposed to interface with it. Not much of an interface is it? :-) Anyway, I'll keep looking but I think that HP is trying to dissuade people from writing proprietary software.

Re: mc/serviceguard development

Hello again,

The interface is with the ServiceGuard Manager software:

http://www.software.hp.com/HA_products_list.html

You will see the version for HP-UX, linux and windows. at the bottom of this page.

Hope this helps

Re: mc/serviceguard development

This API is currently used for the ServiceGuard Manager product, and is not meant for customers to use it for hteir own "home-grown" applications at this time.
This may change in the future, at which time there will be a statement and documentation provided.
