MC/SG and Auto-Port Aggregation

There was OS 11i and MC/SG OPS 11.14 configured. After that the APA has been installed. To move to APA configuration we halted the cluster, made aggregates and edited conf.ascii file to reflect new APA structure. But cmcheckconf hangs with messages in syslog:
"unable to establish a link level binding..." and "collision with another configuration process".
APA manual says to configure APA before configuring MC/SG. Should we completely remove all cluster configuration with cmdeleteconf or there is other way to overcome this errors?

Thanks

Re: MC/SG and Auto-Port Aggregation

Hi,

You shouldn't have to delete your cluster configuration. Just halt the cluster, get your APA configuration working, and then you can configure the cluster to use the APA LAN device [lan100, lan101, etc.], and restart the cluster.

Re: MC/SG and Auto-Port Aggregation

did you do a cmcheckconf after editing the ascii file?
Also, try doing a cmquerycl and creating another ascii file and compare them.
Your APA config MUST be working cfore doing te cluster config.

Re: MC/SG and Auto-Port Aggregation

Yes, after editing.
We did cmquerycl also, but checkconf on it gave same binding errors and hangs.
APA config looks working as rlogin works.

Re: MC/SG and Auto-Port Aggregation

Do you have the latest patches for MC/SG? It looks like PHSS_26056 is for SG 11.14.

What does your 'lanscan' and 'netstat -rn' look like?
