mechanism for the process will consume only the first 4 CPU’s

is there any mechanism that when such process are run, the process will consume only the first 4 CPU’s and some part of Memory, so that the remaining CPU’s and memory can be used for other production activities and queries?

I have 8 CPUs in my server.

is it possible to allocate CPU’s for process ID’s?

You can use Work Load Manager or Process resource manager which have the capability to allocate a certain percentage of CPU and Memory to a group of processes predefined in a workload group.
