memlogd problem

Hey everyone, I have a little problem
every time the memlogd is falling...
The diagmond proccess is still running, I tried to start the memlogd by cstm command, but after 5 minitus the process is falling :\
I tried to stop the diagnostics and removed the memlog file from /var/stm/logs/os.
that didn't help :(
the output of uname -a is
B.11.11 U 9000/800
and the output os swlist -l product | grep -i sup is
Sup-Tool-Mgr B.11.11.08.12

thanks ! Ilia

Hi,
and welcome tot he forums !
I suspect you have already seen:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=50339
You shouldn't have to start memlogd as diagmond should start it. As this startup is not working, have you checked the configuration?

What's in the log files, especially for diagmond?

Re: memlogd problem

OK, well when I try to start diagmond it starts the memlogd, but after a while the process is falling.

when I enter the cstm utillity and run lsal, It shows me:
Launching daemon executable
{/usr/sbin/....)

Daemon procees memlogd with procees ID ... exited.

daemon process completed with exit_status UNKNOWN (1)
indicating the reason for the process completion was unknown.
possible causes - process internal error.

When I run swlist -l fileset -a state
I see that all the STM are configured :\

Is there is any other checks I can do ?
thnank !

Re: memlogd problem

Hi,

you are using the Sept. 2002 release!

How about updating it?

See
http://docs.hp.com/en/diag/stm/stm_upd.htm

I'm quite sure this will help ;-)

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: memlogd problem

Yes, you definitely need to upgrade to a currently supported version. It'll be a waste of time to do any troubleshooting with the version you have, there are too many possibilities for incompatibilities with other software on the system, or bugs which have been fixed since that release.
