Re: memory allocation

actually we have user request to change memory allocation from:
Total VM : 6.2gb Sys Mem : 4.4gb User Mem: 14.5gb Phys Mem: 32.0gb
Active VM: 6.0gb Buf Cache: 13.0gb Free Mem: 210mb

To :
Total VM : 10.0gb Sys Mem : 3.2gb User Mem: 24.7gb Phys Mem: 32.0gb
Active VM: 9.8gb Buf Cache: 655mb Free Mem: 3.4gb

Is it can be changed?

Re: memory allocation

for this you need to change the kernel parameters.

what is your dbc_max_pct and dbc_min_pct kernel parameters value now?

and what is your total memory?

Re: memory allocation

Salam Rasidi,

dbc_max_pct defines the maximum percentage of memory to be used by dynamic buffer cache.
Minimum 2
Maximum 90
Default 50

dbc_min_pct defines the minimum percentage of memory to be used by dynamic buffer cache.
Minimum 2
Maximum 90
Default 5

In your case you are using default values, Change them according to your need.
