Memory Reservation Per Processes

Dear all

I would like to ask, how it is possible to determine the minimum memory usage for a process.

What is my problem, I have an Oracle Server that for each process reserves 32MB and continuesly it is increasing the reservation to 48MB and finnaly to 64MB. This produces a proble in swapping. I can send you the oracle parameters and kernel configuration if you need.

From Oracle I know that the only parameter that can be used to manipulate the memory reservation is the SORT_AREA_SIZE and SORT_AREA_RETAIN SIZE. For my system the parameters are 1000000 and 100000 respectively.
