Memory Utilization remains at 100% and system hick ups ?
Details :
OS : 11i, Physical mem : 4G
# Swapinfo -ta
Kb Kb Kb PCT START/ Kb
TYPE AVAIL USED FREE USED LIMIT RESERVE PRI NAME
dev 8192000 0 8192000 0% 0 - 1 /dev/vg00/lvol2
dev 12288000 1450940 10804292 12% 0 - 0 /dev/vg00/lv_swap1
reserve - 6375000 -6375000
memory 3157312 687928 2469384 22%
We are we seeing less VM (total only appx 7G available through Glance. maxswapchunk is set to 16K and swapchunk size is 65K ( think its too high and planning to reduce) is there any advantage of having a swapchunk size equls to PE size of the disk it swaps to ? or what should it be ?

Re: Memory Utilization remains at 100% and system hick ups ?
Different utilities are gong to show different numbers because of how they calculate memory figures.
As to your peformance question, I have some reading for you that will help. Great doc by one of HP's best guys in this field.

Re: Memory Utilization remains at 100% and system hick ups ?
Mucking around with swapchunks wont help. You have 4GB of ram and so far 1.4GB is swapped out to disk. Basically you need 5.4GB of RAM!
Youre seriously out of memory, you must reduce memory demand to stop your poor performance or add more RAM.
As a guideline you will find most admins dont allow ANYTHING to be swapped to disk, as it affects performance so much. Definitely not on production servers. We dont. Your device lines from swapinfo should always show USED=0
