Memory Windows

If I have "max_mem_windows" set to 3 but I'm not starting any applications using memory windows am I losing any resources? Or limiting myself in any way?

Machine: L2000
OS: HPUX 11.00

Thanks....

Re: Memory Windows

Hi Jim,

Must be memory windows question week! :)

No, you are not limiting yourself in any way or taking up resources. Having memory windows enabled (by having max_mem_window set to >1) in the kernel does changed the shared memory allocation algorhythm slightly but you are extremely unlikely to notice anything.

Regards,

James.
