Micro Focus 5.0 for 11.23 not working with 11.31

Hi,
I read on MF that Server for Cobol 5.0 is for HP 11.23. There is a footnote that HP stated it should also work on 11.31. I've found that file conversion on 11.31 does not work on the 11.31 system. Can you please indicate to me why HP thinks MF Servero for Cobol 5.0 (runtime) works on both 11.23 and 11.31? I'm finding that it is not true. When you install MF using the 11.23 Runtime, it states the installation is for 11.23 and not for 11.31. If you have a problem you need to recreate it on 11.23 before submitting an issue to MF. So again, I'd like to understand what HP means by stating it is compatible.

I take it you are referring to this page here:

Note the use of the word "should" rather than "will".

Note these are compatbility statements about expected behaviour. They are *not* support statements. HP cannot make statements about support of non-HP software! If Microfocus say it "should" work and it doesn't, then that is an issue for Microfocus, not HP. I suggest you start by opening a support call with MF and see where that takes you...

According to public ISV page at HP:

These are the versions listed:

Micro Focus Server for Cobol
v.5.0 for HP-UX 11.23
v.5.1 for HP-UX 11.31

Therefore, it seems that HP suggests
you upgrade to version 5.1 if you want to
use it on HP-UX 11.31.

Of course, this is a third-party application,
so Micro Focus should confirm it.
