Migrating boot disk (vg00) from fabric to local disk

Hi all,

I have a system which is currently booting off SAN fabric (vg00 sits on a SAN disk).

If I wish to migrate the boot disk to a local disk with minimal downtime, whats the way to go about it.

Furthermore if the server resides on a rp7410 vpar, is there any complicating factors involved?
regards,
Mak

The easiest way, by far, would be to mirror the root disk to the local disk. Then once that is done, and verified, you remove the mirror from the SAN disk.

This will require that you have the MirrorDisk/UX software installed.

After the mirroring don't forget to adjust the vPar configuration for your boot devices using vparmodify - otherwise your vPar won't boot.

Hope this helps!
