Migration/Upgrade
We are in the process of migration/upgrade of some of the hpux servers running on PA-RISC based servers. Most of them have the following combination:
OS Version Database
11.11 Oracle 9.2.0
11.00 Oracle 8.1.7
11.23 Oracle 9.2.0
Our goal is to migrate to the latest version of the OS but the question is that if the database support that version.
Could any one give me some suggestion what would be the best scenario in upgradation/migration of these servers.

Re: Migration/Upgrade
You really need to check with Oracle on this.
However, I am 95% certain that Oracle 8i / 8.1.7 is completely out of support. So technically it is not supported on ANY OS.
I believe that 9i may be getting close to its end of support as well.
Now, according to what I can see on Oracle's web site, HP-UX 11i V3 (11.31) is certified with: Oracle 10g R2 and 11g R1.
It appears that Oracle 9.2.0 might have been supported with 11.0, 11.11, 11.23 and 11.31. BUT 9.2.0 is desupported, but in Oracle Extended Support (if you pay for that).
It also appears as if Oracle 8.1.7 might have been supported up to 11.23, but 8.1.7 is completely out of support.
In a nutshell, you **MIGHT** get these to work on 11.23 or 11.31, but I think it would be at your own risk and you may not get support from Oracle if you have problems.

Re: Migration/Upgrade
If these servers are important, then you'll not only migrate to the latest HP-UX version (11.31) but you will also migrate to the latest version of Oracle. It is very doubtful that any of those versions of Oracle are supported on 11.31, nor would you want to risk experimenting. By trying to use the obsolete and old versions of Oracle, you will place your databases at risk and certainly cripple the performance enhancements found in both Oracle 10g or 11g.

Re: Migration/Upgrade
NONE of those vers are supported.
Get the doc from Oracle for the latest ver and compatability with 11.31 on YOUR hardware
