Migration VxVM disks from EVA5000 to EVA6400
Hi,
I need to migrate from EVA5000 to EVA6400. Server OS is HP-UX 11.23.
Firstly, I plan to replicate VxVM disks with EVA Continuous Access from one EVA to another as is.
But after that I have a question regarding restoring volume groups.
Is it enough to execute command "vxdg import" or it's necessary to do some other steps?
I misunderstand how VxVM recognize disks and local volumes.
Does it scan all disk's headers during import operation to see volume group configuration?
What happens if new disks have another LUNs?
Thanks.

Re: Migration VxVM disks from EVA5000 to EVA6400
probably will need to refresh the vxvm daemons and cause them toread the new headers.
vxdctl enable
or
vxdisk scandisks
after that you should see the disk group when you do a
vxdisk -o alldgs list
The disk group name and information is written to the headers of each disk in the disk group. There is no need for lvmtab or map file like lvm
