Mirror swap

it really helps mirror swap areas?
where can i find a document about mirroring swap areas?.

Imagine, if you will, losing your swap area. The system will go down with a bang, even if everything else is still available. I think it helps.

Hi Javier,

It's not so much help as it's a safety feature.
If you lose the disk containing swap & have no mirror, you could panic the system if it's in use.

What you don't need to mirror is dump...unless of course you're using the swap LV for dump as well.

Yes you have to mirror swap. If the swap is not mirrored and if the primary disk is down, then it will result a crash of the system as the swap is not available anymore.

Javier,

Yes it is important to mirror the swap area. If you lose your swap then your system is dead in the water.

Mirroring swap is no different than mirroring any other logical volume.
