Re: Mirror-UX

Hi,

I don't recall differences between HP-UX 10.20 and 11.x regarding HP/Mirror-UX.

Use swinstall to install Mirror-UX for 11.x (codeword is required as this is no freebie),

and "lvextend -m 1 /dev/vgxx/lvolx /dev/dsk/cxtxdx" or SAM to mirror your logical volumes.

regards,
Thierry.
All unix flavours are exactly the same . . . . . . . . . . for end users anyway.

Re: Mirror-UX

Hi,

Just remember that LVM command patches (PHCO_xxxxx) delivers different binaries depending if Mirror/UX is installed or not. You have to install a new LVM command patch or force reinstallation of current one to get the correct patched command. Mirror/US product is just a 'flag' to indicate that this funtion is available.

Re: Mirror-UX

You should put the "mirror" in a different disk cabinet and on a different SCSI bus whenever posible.

Re: Mirror-UX

Mirror/UX should be located on the first application disk. Look for: B2491A_APZ MirrorDisk/UX Use swinstall to install the codeword and the product.

It requires a codeword to unlock the application. Codewords can be obtained on-line under http://www.itrc.hp.com --> Maintenance & Support --> Under Download/Licensing -->Software Licensing (Codewords, Passwords, FAQ)

Instructions for usage can be found in the Managing Systems & Workgroups guide at http://www.docs.hp.com Here is the direct link to the section:
