I have a set of mirrored drives:
sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP 73.4GST373453LC
/dev/dsk/c2t1d0 /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0
disk 2 0/1/1/1.0.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP 73.4GST373454LC
/dev/dsk/c3t0d0 /dev/rdsk/c3t0d0
I would like to replace them one at a time. I want to upgrade to 146gig. Replace the 73 gig and put the 146 gig in and copy image from 73 gig mirrored drive. Then repeat this for the next mirrored 146 gig drive. If this can be done and how? This is hp-ux 11.11
Thanks,

Re: mirrored disk drive replacements
This will limit the capacity of the new drive to 73GB.
Best way to get the disks upgraded is to store an ignite backup, swap the disk and restore the image.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

;-)
Do you have a tape drive or another hp-ux server?
Hope this helps!

Torsten.

SolutionIn most cases the number of physical extends is set to fit the largest disk in the volume group at the time you created the VG.
You can check this with
vgdisplay -v vg00
For this reason you cannot include a larger disk later.
In HP-UX 11.31 and 11.23 (patched) you can adjust the maximum using vgmodify.
The workaround is a new installation (re-create vg00) - from scratch or from an ignite image.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
