Mirrored Volume Group Lost Data

We lost a mirrored Volume Group.

Is there a way to re-create the VG including the former Data ?

Re: Mirrored Volume Group Lost Data

Hi,
There is no need to recreate vg.Please provide some detailed information so that we might help you. Which version of OS ? Which VG got lost ?
Are physical disks on which vg was allocated allright?

Re: Mirrored Volume Group Lost Data

How did you loose you VG? if a number of disks failed you should activate the vg with

vgchange -a y -q n

This will allow it to be activated without quorum.

If you have lost primary & mirror of any LV then you must restore from backup.
