Re: Mirroring itanium boot drive
>@Torsten. . I'm trying to give arguments why hardware RAID is better than LVM mirror with this system:
:( However:
- It depends on the situation and with the customer need. I found LVM mirroring is good, easy to setup & manage, than hw raid , and good for those who are not quite familiar with sasmgr and drvcfg utility, we get full visibility to the os (with LVM). In past 3 years I havn't seen any problem to 10+ rx6600 and few 3600 & 4600 (on 11.23), we removed hw raid and they are being managed with LVM mirroring. The above document came from HP when we said we dont want the HW mirroring, and want to configure the disk(s) in LVM .
- So everything works. I mean to say this configuration is also possible if want to go with it,
Cheers,
Raj.

Re: Mirroring itanium boot drive
Gee, on Solaris 10 all I would have to do is:
# zpool attach -f rpool c0t0d0s0 c1t0d0s0
and I don't even have to reboot.
Blinkin EFI....
