MirrorUX - Online JFS

Hi,

How would I know whether I have mirror-UX and onlineJFS installed? I have swlist but cannot find it. If I need to re-install the server, do I need to get any codeword to unlock the license.

hi,

to verify if MirrorUX is install:

# swlist -l bundle|grep -i mirror

to verify if Online JFS is install:

# swlist -l product|grep -i OnlineJFS

if u cannot find them, this mean it is not install.

To install, u need the codeword for both of them.

to get the codeword, proceed to this site:

http://licensing.hp.com/welcome.slm

which requires either your Customer Identifier or License Number or Certificate ID.

Hi,

To verify mirror-UX software is installed, use the command below :

# swlist -l fileset |grep -i mir

which should return the LVM-MIRROR-RUN

# swlist -l fileset |grep -i mir
LVM.LVM-MIRROR-RUN B.11.11 LVM-MIRROR-RUN

To verify OnlineJFS is installed, use the command below :

# swlist -l fileset |grep -i onlinejfs

which should return OnlineJFS & OnlineJDS.VXFS-ADV-RUN :

# swlist -l fileset |grep -i onlinejfs
# OnlineJFS B.11.11 Online features of the Vx
FS File System
OnlineJFS.VXFS-ADV-RUN B.11.11 VXFS-ADV-RUN

If you re-install the server using Ignite/UX backup, you dont need to get any codeword to unlock the license.

But if you re-install the server by using fresh install method and you install the application from HP-UX CD application. Yes, you need the codewords to unlock the license.

Hi,

If you have bought the HP-UX 11i OE EOE or MCOE, than automaticaly you have the licence to install mirror-ux and online jfs.
Normaly it's installed directly with this licence.

Online JFS is the same as Veritas File System (VxFS).

vxlicrep
vxlicense -p

to check if you have it and licensed.

MirrorDisk:

swlist|grep B2491BA

It depends on what version of O/S you are using and what version of Online JFS you are interested in. If it is JFS version 3.2 (B2939BA) and below. It comes with the hp-ux 11i all versions. You just need to give you customer ID to licence or upgrade. Version 11.00 need a purchase of the product.

However, you need to purchase Mirrordisk-ux for all versions. unless you have a contract and you are upgrading.
