Missing lvol3 from vg00.

I have a system where, not by me, the fstab file was edited and the leading "/" from "/dev/vg00/lvol3" was removed. It then looked like "dev/vg00/lvol3".

Then the system was rebooted.
Successfully I might add.

lvol3 now appears as "/dev/root" from a bdf.

Question: How do I get this back to normal.
The disk has been mirrored after the misfortunate incident. the command was "lvextend -m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol3 /dev/dsk/c0t2d0"

Some details.
HP-UX 11.0

"lvlnboot -v" returns Boot on lvol3.
System performs as normal.

Any Ideas?
Baldric, I have a plan so cunning you could pin a tail on it and call it a weasle.

Re: Missing lvol3 from vg00.

/dev/root This happens when sometime the system was booted into lvm maintenance mode.

Just do a
#mv /etc/mnttab /etc/mnttab.old
#mount -a

Re: Missing lvol3 from vg00.

Hi,

since disk is mirrored, even the mirrored disk also contains same fstab as in first disk. since your system is normal, edit the fstab, add the / to the missing path(dev/vg00/lvol3).

#mv /etc/mnttab /etc/mnttab.old
#mount -a

in the next reboot all mounts will be normal.

Re: Missing lvol3 from vg00.

Thanks for your help.

I'll be trying this later on and send forth the happy news.

Thanks.
Trevor.
