Missing /var/opt/hparray/log/AMLCATLG Should I be concerned?

I have the SureStore 12H AutoRAIDs in use for some of my servers. I've been doing some L0* cleanup today and noticed that the AMLCATLG file missing from one of the servers. Should I be concerned? Should I run /sbin/init.d/hparray stop and then touch the file to create it and restart?

Thanks jack...

Re: Missing /var/opt/hparray/log/AMLCATLG Should I be concerned?

You do not need to touch it. Restarting the hparray startup script in /sbin/init.d will recreate this file. Basically this file is used by the disk array server daemon (ARMServer and AM60Srvr), kindda like a status file. Next time when you do housekeeping it's better to rename the AM* files or move 'em somewhere just in case it does not get recreate automatically after you run hparray.

As said, you don't need to create the file manually. This file will be created automatically during the next rc script run time.

I've restarted the hparray script a couple of times and the AMLCATLG file does not get recreated.

Re: Missing /var/opt/hparray/log/AMLCATLG Should I be concerned?

The log files are created by the ARMserver process and will be updated normally every 15 mnts (when ARMserver polling) and every time the system restarts or when ARMserver restarts. Also the log files can be viewed with the command - /opt/hparray/bin/logprint.

In your case, if the log file doesn't create automatically after you stopped and started the init script, then you can create the log file manually too. Stop the process, touch the log file and start it again.

Thanks... I'll wait an hour or so. If it still is not created, I'll stop hparray, touch it and restart...
