mksf for IBM LTO
I keep getting
Invalid Physical Device on an OB II log
for an
IBM Ultrium LTO Drive.
I am using stape and have tried several device files.
Any suggestions for the minor numbers or a different driver?

Re: mksf for IBM LTO
Tony,
What does the output of your ioscan show:
ioscan -funC tape
Is the stape driver finding the Ultrium LTO drive at all? What is the exact error in your OB II log?
I think that stape should work for this LTO drive. You may want to try the following:
1. Backup your current /dev/rmt files.
2. /sbin/insf -d stape -H path -I x
-e (where path is the output from ioscan and x is the instance number)
Hope that helps.

Re: mksf for IBM LTO
First check:
- If the device is supported (by IBM or HP) on HP-UX (on your platform and release).
- If the device is supported (by HP or IBM) by OmniBack (for your release). This is probably documented in the device section of the Release Notes of your OmniBack version.
