Modem cable for N4000
I am having trouble getting information on the correct cable to use for connecting a modem to the mux on my N-Class server.
I have been told that I can use a standard straight through cable and I have also been told that I need to use a special cable.
Can somebody tell be what I really need?

Re: Modem cable for N4000
I have always used an HP modem cable with no problems. Thet have a doc out there somewhere to detail this info but I'm sorry, I do not have the info with me right now.

Re: Modem cable for N4000
I believe it's this :-
The lines marked with * are usually the ones
needed for modem use.
CPU Modem
( DB-9 F DTE ) (DB-25 M DCE)
-------------------------------------------
CD 1 <--------- 8 CD *
RD 2 <--------- 3 RD *
TD 3 ---------> 2 TD *
DTR 4 ---------> 20 DTR *
GND 5 <--------> 7 GND *
DSR 6 ---------- 6 DSR
RTS 7 ---------- 4 RTS
CTS 8 ---------- 5 CTS
RI 9 <--------- 22 RI

Re: Modem cable for N4000
Tanja,
Do you need the cable for an additional PCI Mux card? Is it 25pin or the 10pin RJ45 (you are able to order both options)?
For the Sub-D 25pin connector is a straight through cable exactly the right one (13242N or 92218A)
For the RJ45 you need an adapter J2489A and cable 40233A.

There is no good troubleshooting with bad data
