Modem disconnect after 5 seconds

I'm doing remote support of a client, where I'm dialling straight into a HP-UX server via Hyper Terminal.

In November we had a situation where I phone in, get connected, but disconnects after 5 seconds. I recreated the device files and it seemed to work, but after they rebooted the system beginning of this year, the problem is back. This time recreating the device file doesn't seem to work. I tried dialling in at night to eliminate the chance of it reaching maximum sessions, but I still couldn't get in.
What else can I look at to fix this problem?

Thank you

This should help you with reconfiguring your modem on your HP server.

BTW
my setup to dial in does not include CCITT option.

Re: Modem disconnect after 5 seconds

Hi

Have you checked that after the reboot whether the option to allow dial in is still set, ie console settings.

Also double check the modem's init strings, speed, parity, flow control etc.

Cheers
