Modem Disconnects on HPUX 11.0
I have a Multitech 5600BA modem that I've attached to an L2000 Server running HPUX 11.0. I've used the ITRC forum extensively to setup the modem the best way possible. I've used the "Cookbook to install an MT5634ZBA Modem on the N/L-Class System" as a relative guide for configuring my AT commands and server setup. The modem is connected using the remote port on a L-Class 'W cable' (console, UPS, remote). My problems occure several minutes into a session. I can log into the server and stay connected anywhere from 5mins to several hours but eventually the modem will disconnect saying 'No reply from modem' on my Reflections terminal. Is there any ideas on why the server disconnects? I've had the modem sent back and returned from the factory. I'm new to UNIX Administrating so any information on logs that I can setup for troubleshooting would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: Modem Disconnects on HPUX 11.0
Hi,
Well I assume that you used 'sam' to configure modem device. We have modem connected on a L-box with the similar kind of setup you have.
You will have device like : /dev/ttyd2a1 or /dev/ttyd0p2. Check for the speed (Ususally it should be 9600)
One more thing you can look in to is the "S" paramemter in Modem setting. The S10 register you can use to hold the line for longer time.

Good luck
