Modem on ttyd0p0 can't be initialized
I try to install a modem usrobotics in the ttyd0p0 of my HP visualize.
In order to test the installation I use Kermit
the SET MODEM TYPEUSROBOTICS, SET LINE /DEV/TTYD0P0, SET SPEED 19200 works fine the when I try to pass the command DIAL 22345 I get in return the folowing error message "Can't initialize modem".
I am certain that the modem, serial cable, TT plug works fine. I have tested them with a windows 2000 workstation I am more familiar with.
Could you please help on the matter ?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Best regards,
Pascal

Re: Modem on ttyd0p0 can't be initialized
Once you have set the line and speed try an AT
command.
The modem should respond with a string with OK in it.
This site list full AT command set.

Re: Modem on ttyd0p0 can't be initialized
From KERMIT there's no AT command possible from XTERM maybe but it doesn't work.
Do I have to change directory ?

Re: Modem on ttyd0p0 can't be initialized
Now I get an other error msg saying Resource temporarily unavailable !
*****
Start (5912)Modem1:telalertm(5.10):HP-UX[10.X/PA2.0], 21Dec2000, (c)1993-2000 Telamon, Inc.
Error*open /dev/ttyd1p0 error 11: Resource temporarily unavailable
Exit (5912)Modem1:telalertm, exiting, error 2: Open (/dev/ttyd1p0) failure
Note -activate [Port] {Modem1} Failed
*****
I use an application called TELALERT. This one is the gateway between Hp Openview (NNM) dans the pagers we want to reach in case of a network problem.
Anyone knows what Resource temporarily available means ?
